Kalimar Inc. was an American distributor founded by Bob Lipsitz in 1952, starting with importing cameras from Japan to the US. It distributed a number of rebadged cameras, lenses and other camera equipment from Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Germany and the Soviet Union. By 1960, Kalimar was responsible for importing 22% of all the Japanese photographic equipment into the US. His cameras were used by NASA on the 1965 Gemini 5 space flight.
