From 1956, Soligor was the brand name for camera's and lenses manufactured by Japanese companies for Allied Impex Corporation, an American distributor. Most products were manufactured in Japan under the Soligor brand by more common names such as Tokina, Vivitar and Miranda and later even taking control of the Miranda company.
The company went belly up in 2012.
The company founded a German sub-company that became Soligor GmbH in 1993, and is today the only one still active today, with a rich product range of camera accessories.
