Like an old pair of jeans: Cosina Cosinon-S 50mm 1:2

.Cost: 8 Euros (average market price $7.75)

From time to time, you get a lens that just feels right. This is a prime example. Simple, robust, solid, sharp,... the moment you start using it the first time, you feel right at home and just want to take pictures, without to much complexity.

Image quality is more than reasonable. Sharp, good colors, little color aberration.

Small profile, and little weight. And with a 1:2 maximum aperture, it's fast enough for most occasions. And it looks pretty good on top.

A keeper for sure, and if you can find one for the whopping price of under 10$, you have a great starter lens to go beyond the standard kit lens.
